Analytics
The site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4. Analytics records pages viewed, the device and browser type, the approximate region and site events, such as running the calculator. An event carries only the first three digits of a ZIP code or the letters of a postcode area, never the full code. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
The calculator and the map
The calculator, the state map and the kit table run in your browser. The ZIP code or postcode you type is not sent anywhere: the solar data files are loaded from this site and the arithmetic happens on your device. A link you copy from the calculator holds only the first three digits of the ZIP code or the postcode area letters.
Settings stored in your browser
The site stores two values in your browser: your light or dark theme choice, and the time you closed the bottom bar, so it stays closed for six hours. Neither leaves your device.
Links to sellers
Links to sellers go through addresses that start with /go/ on this site, which count the click and send you on to the seller. The count holds no personal data. On a seller's site, its own privacy policy applies, and it may use cookies to credit a sale to this site.
Third-party content
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Brand logos are copies stored on this site.
