Plug-in solar kits compared

Choose a plug-in solar kit by comparing its AC output, certification status, included panels and price—not panel watts alone. Start with the kit table, using the battery, mount, budget, UL 3700 and state-limit filters to narrow the comparison.

Which kind of kit do you need?

Panel-and-microinverter kits include panels; inverter-only products leave you to supply them. EcoFlow STREAM bundles, Mango Power, pluggedsolar, Craftstrom Eco-Line and Bright Saver offer panel-and-microinverter options. The EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter sold on its own includes no panels, so it is not a complete starting package if you need those too.

Battery kits add storage, but battery capacity and inverter output are separate specifications. Zendure SolarFlow includes 1,920 Wh of storage, expandable to 7,680 Wh; the Craftstrom battery kit includes 3,000 Wh. For storage options, see kits with batteries; do not assume that including a battery also means an outage outlet is provided.

Your available space and mounting requirements help narrow the remaining options. Use the apartment kit comparison and balcony-railing comparison for those settings, or the 1,200 W kit comparison to compare that size category. A panel wattage label alone does not establish whether a kit fits your mounting location or local limit.

What should you compare?

Compare panel power and AC inverter output separately, then check which measurement your state's rule limits. EcoFlow's bundle with 400 W of panels has an inverter rated up to 1,200 W AC; Zendure pairs 2,000 W of panels with up to 900 W AC. Check the state rules rather than treating the panel total as the legal output limit.

UL 3700 claims are not the same as a verified listing. The sellers claim compliance for pluggedsolar, Craftstrom Eco-Line and Bright Saver, but no UL listing was found; EcoFlow, Mango Power, Zendure and the Craftstrom battery kit have unpublished UL 3700 status. A separately named certification, such as UL 1741, does not establish a UL 3700 listing.

Compare battery capacity, coupling, mounting equipment and dated prices before choosing. The comparison records battery capacities but does not specify battery coupling or included mounts, so confirm those details in the product documentation. Price per watt uses panel watts: it cannot compare an inverter-only product on the same basis, and it does not isolate the value of storage in a battery bundle.

  • Panel W: the included solar-panel capacity.
  • AC W: the inverter's stated output, where published.
  • Battery Wh: storage capacity, not output power.
  • Price date: when the official-store price was checked.

How are prices checked?

Prices are official-store list prices recorded on a stated date, without discounts. We check prices every two to four weeks and mark variants that were sold out at the check. The table's price date matters because the recorded amount is not a promise of today's checkout price.

The EcoFlow bundle with 800 W of panels was $1,099 on the official store, checked October 14, 2026, and sold out that day. Zendure SolarFlow was also sold out at that check, while the Bright Saver 360 W kit had no published price. Use the table for specifications and dated prices, then see product reviews for further detail.

Questions

Does every plug-in solar kit include panels?

No: the EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter includes no panels. Its panel bundles are separate products, so check the included panel capacity rather than relying on the product family name.

Are these kits UL 3700 listed?

No verified UL 3700 listing has been established for any kit in this comparison. Some sellers say their kits meet UL 3700; others do not publish a status.

Can a plug-in solar kit power appliances during an outage?

Do not assume it can: the EcoFlow standalone microinverter, Mango Power kit and Bright Saver kits explicitly have no outage outlet. An outage outlet is not confirmed for the battery kits in this comparison either.

How much money will a kit save?

Official-store kit prices do not establish how much you will save on electricity. Price per watt describes purchase cost relative to panel capacity, not electricity-bill savings.
