EcoFlow STREAM in the UK
EcoFlow sells STREAM solar kits in the UK, but the exact kit matters: an 800 W AC microinverter is not the same product as a STREAM battery system. The ENA register includes specific EcoFlow kits marked Compliant, while registration for the store’s microinverter bundles remains unconfirmed as of 14 October 2026.

EcoFlow’s UK store sells the STREAM 800W Microinverter, panel bundles and larger STREAM products. The microinverter bundle has 1,000 W of DC panels but delivers up to 800 W AC: panel capacity and inverter output are different measurements.
The larger STREAM products below are also sold in the UK, but their advertised output is up to 2,300 W AC. They should not be treated as interchangeable with the 800 W AC microinverter kit; compare the model and included equipment in the kit cards.
- STREAM 800W Microinverter: no panels included, up to 800 W AC, no outage socket; £129 on the official store, checked 14 October 2026.
- STREAM Microinverter + 2 × 500 W rigid panels: 1,000 W DC, up to 800 W AC, no outage socket; £549 on the official store, checked 14 October 2026.
- STREAM Ultra: no panels included, up to 2,300 W AC, with an outage-capable socket; £899 on the official store, checked 14 October 2026.
- STREAM Ultra + 4 × 500 W rigid panels: 2,000 W DC, up to 2,300 W AC, with an outage-capable socket; £1,499 on the official store, checked 14 October 2026.
- STREAM Ultra X: 3.84 kWh battery, no panels included, up to 2,300 W AC; £1,299 on the official store, checked 14 October 2026.
- STREAM AC Pro: no panels included, up to 2,300 W AC, with an outage-capable socket; £699 on the official store, checked 14 October 2026.

Registration depends on the exact kit
The ENA Type Test Register marks specific EcoFlow plug-in solar kits Compliant, not the whole STREAM range. Checked 14 October 2026, entry ECOFL/21128/V1/A3 covers named STREAM flat-roof and facade kits, while ECOFL/21606/V1/A1 names EF-PS-800 + SPDG505-N108R12. Both entries show 0.8 kW and were published on 22 September 2026.
The store-listed standalone microinverter and 2 × 500 W bundle have unconfirmed register status in this site’s product comparison. The Ultra, Ultra panel bundle, Ultra X and AC Pro are not on the register in that comparison. Ask EcoFlow to match the exact product you intend to buy to its register entry rather than assuming similar names establish compliance.
EcoFlow says maximum microinverter output can be configured in its app, but an 800 W setting alone does not establish compliance. SI 2026/848 limits a plug-in microgenerator to a maximum rated output of 800 W AC and requires compliance with the Interim Product Specification. EcoFlow’s IP67 claim concerns protection against ingress, not approval under that specification.
The UK rules cover solar, not batteries
The UK plug-in solar route covers compliant solar devices, not every product that connects through a socket. SI 2026/848 has been in effect since 27 August 2026, and DESNZ says only devices compliant with the Interim Product Specification can be sold and plugged in under the amended plug rules.
A qualifying device must generate electricity directly from sunlight and must not be designed to draw electricity from your home for storage and later supply, apart from permitted control or auxiliary functions. DESNZ explicitly says the specification does not extend to plug-in batteries. A battery product that charges from your socket therefore cannot rely on this solar route.
The territorial scope also differs within the UK. The plug amendments extend to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but the installation and operation amendment extends only to England, Wales and Scotland. Check the rules relevant to your location rather than treating the changes as identical everywhere.
When STREAM is the wrong choice
The microinverter kit is wrong for you if you need a socket that works during a grid outage. The store comparison records no outage socket for either the standalone microinverter or its panel bundle. Some larger STREAM products offer that feature, but their absence from the plug-in solar register remains a separate consideration.
The larger panel bundle is not automatically a better-value choice for reducing your bill. For London, the calculator gives the £549 microinverter bundle, priced on 14 October 2026, 744 kWh a year, 55% used at home and £107 annual savings. For the £1,499 Ultra panel bundle, priced on the same date, it gives 1,489 kWh a year, 37% used at home and £129 annual savings; this calculation does not establish plug-in eligibility.
If confirmed register status is your priority, compare the specifically registered EcoFlow kits with registered alternatives. ENA lists Zendure SolarFlow 800 configurations with floor, wall and balcony brackets as Compliant, published on 21 September 2026. Use your address in the calculator rather than assuming the London output applies to your balcony.
Warranty and installation questions
EcoFlow’s UK product page states a 10-year STREAM Microinverter warranty. Buy from the UK store with the exact model and bundle identified, and check the applicable warranty terms rather than extending that microinverter promise to every STREAM product.
EcoFlow’s UK page also says its BKW DIY cable must connect to the distribution board and requires a professional installer or electrician. That instruction differs from the standard plug-and-socket route described in the amended regulations. Ask EcoFlow which connection instructions and compliance documentation apply to your exact UK kit before buying; do not assume the rule change overrides the product instructions.

Questions
Is EcoFlow STREAM legal as plug-in solar in the UK?
Specific EcoFlow kits are marked Compliant on the ENA register, checked 14 October 2026. That does not establish approval for every STREAM product: match the exact kit to its entry and applicable manufacturer instructions.
Can EcoFlow STREAM output be set to 800 W?
EcoFlow says the microinverter’s maximum output can be configured through its app. The legal cap is 800 W AC maximum rated output, and changing a setting alone does not demonstrate compliance with the Interim Product Specification.
How much does the EcoFlow solar kit save?
For the STREAM Microinverter + 2 × 500 W panel bundle, the calculator gives annual savings of £107 in London, £98 in Manchester and £92 in Glasgow. These are location-specific estimates, not guaranteed savings or a forecast for your address.
