Craftstrom review
Craftstrom sells modular plug-in solar kits in the US, but its certification claims and state-law fit need checking before you buy. The range includes solar-only Eco-Line kits and a battery bundle. Official-store prices were checked October 14, 2026; availability across the country is not the same as permission to connect.

US kits, sizes and prices
Craftstrom’s US range includes Eco-Line solar kits and a solar-plus-battery bundle. The company lists a Houston, Texas address and says its products are available in all 50 states. The kit table separates panel power from maximum AC inverter output.
The battery bundle has conflicting official prices: the dated store record gives $8,199, checked October 14, 2026, while a separate Craftstrom marketing page lists $8,711.44. Confirm the checkout price rather than treating either figure as a guaranteed quote. Craftstrom also describes separate modular smart batteries, but those specifications should not be substituted for the bundle’s stated battery capacity.

Certification claims are not verified listings
The seller says the Eco-Line kits meet UL 3700, but no UL listing was found as of October 14, 2026. The battery bundle’s UL 3700 status was not published as of October 14, 2026. Neither statement establishes a verified listing.
The seller names UL 1742, written that way with an ETL reference, and IEEE 1547 for these kits. Do not silently read UL 1742 as UL 1741; ask for the certification document covering the exact model. Craftstrom also says its systems were tested by Lawrence Berkeley Labs and National Renewable Energy Labs, but that testing claim is not a UL listing.
Size fit does not establish permission
The 800 W AC and 1,200 W AC Eco-Line models fall within the numerical caps in the in-effect state laws. Those laws cover Utah, Maryland, Vermont and Connecticut at 1,200 W, Colorado at 1,920 W, and Maine at 420 W without conditions or 1,200 W with a licensed electrician. Maine specifies AC output and Vermont limits inverter capacity; for the other states in this group, the law does not say whether this is AC or DC output.
The 1,600 W AC model falls within Colorado’s numerical cap, but exceeds the other in-effect caps; the 2,000 W AC bundle exceeds all of them. Vermont’s S 202 names UL 3700, making certification evidence particularly relevant there. A size match alone does not establish compliance.
California, New Hampshire and Virginia have signed laws taking effect January 1, 2027; New Jersey’s takes effect March 1, 2027. Each sets 1,200 W: California and New Hampshire specify AC output, while New Jersey and Virginia do not state AC or DC. Craftstrom’s “Legal in all 50 states” and “No Permits” claims do not resolve requirements in states without a dedicated law; check the state-law reference and applicable utility requirements.
Who should consider another option
Craftstrom is a poor fit if you need a verified UL listing before purchase or expect the largest kit to qualify under a 1,200 W cap. It also needs closer scrutiny if you expect every component simply to plug into an outlet. The Power Meter is intended for indoor DIN-rail mounting inside the breaker box and lacks internal overcurrent protection and mains isolation.
A larger solar-only kit is not automatically better value for your household. In Los Angeles, the calculator gives the 800 W Eco-Line 826 kWh a year and $156 in annual savings, compared with 1,652 kWh and $177 for the 1,600 W model. Estimated payback is 9.6 years and 16.9 years respectively; use the calculator rather than assuming savings scale with panel size.
For comparison, EcoFlow’s STREAM bundle with 800 W of panels and up to 1,200 W AC output was $1,099 on the official store, checked October 14, 2026, but sold out that day; its UL 3700 status was not published. If grid connection is unresolved, consider a portable power station charged by a panel without connecting it to the home’s grid circuit. The kit comparison separates panel size, inverter output and certification claims.
Buying, warranty and app support
You can find the reviewed kits on Craftstrom’s official US store, but Craftstrom’s official material reviewed for this page does not establish a warranty term. Request the warranty terms for the exact kit before ordering, including coverage for the inverter and battery. Craftstrom says it does not perform installations at customers’ premises and assumes no liability for Power Meter installation.
Craftstrom provides its app free of charge for monitoring production, usage and accumulated energy in kWh. Device registration requires a dedicated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, and operating data is sent to Craftstrom’s server for remote monitoring and control. Check that this network requirement suits your home before choosing the system.

Questions
Is Craftstrom plug-in solar legal in every state?
Craftstrom says its products are legal in all 50 states, but that is a manufacturer claim, not a state-by-state approval. Check the applicable law, certification requirements and utility process before connecting a grid-connected kit.
Is Craftstrom UL 3700 listed?
The seller says the Eco-Line kits meet UL 3700, but no UL listing was found as of October 14, 2026. The battery bundle’s UL 3700 status was not published as of October 14, 2026.
Does Craftstrom offer battery storage?
The reviewed solar-plus-battery bundle includes a 3,000 Wh battery. Craftstrom also describes modular smart batteries in 1 kWh and 2.3 kWh sizes, supporting storage from 1 to 9.2 kWh.
